DBPG MUSIC MINISTRY

Mass service: 6:00–7:00 PM (Saturday Anticipated English Mass)

Music and songs continue to play a vital role in every Prayer Group or Prayer Community. At DBPG, the singing and leading of Music Ministers are indispensable instruments of the ministry's role. The power to lead every member and the whole community in singing to worship and praise the Lord even in a unison, partnered with dancing, clapping of hands, and even jumping makes a difference!

DBPG Music Ministry is one of the three (3) ministries of Don Bosco Prayer Group since 1982. Its service is in two phases:

… in the Prayer Group

For the Thursday Prayer Meetings -

  • coordinate with the prayer leaders and the song choices/line up to be sung in the prayer meeting and PowerPoint as well

For Catholic Life in the Seminar and Basic Christian Maturity Program -

  • teach joyful, action, and praise songs to the participants and

  • coordinate with the speakers on songs relevant to their topics

  • manage and organize songs to be sung during the Baptism and the Commissioning Rites

Retreats and Recollection (Community and by the Parish)

  • Prepare songs and their PowerPoint.

DBPG Music Ministry also sings to pay respect to its departed community members and members of their families by praying and singing, through Rosario Cantata

… in the Parish

The DBPG Music Ministry sings every 6:00 p.m. Anticipated Sunday Mass (6 PM Saturday) in the Parish of St. John Bosco. It was through Fr. Roozen when DBPG was invited to take the Saturday slot.

The DBPG Music Ministry has been given the honor and privilege to serve by singing in the Good Friday Service

The DBPG Music is also given assignments to sing on important Parish events & feast days and participates in the parish joint choirs. DBPG Music Ministry supports Parish activities, through the Parish Music Ministry and Cultural Affairs, also known as MOMCA, where DBPG Music Ministry is a member.

Aside from the above, it holds fellowship and celebrate birthdays and wedding anniversaries of its members.

The group holds a household activity where members proclaim and share how good the LORD is, through their WINS (answered prayers, surprises given by the Lord to our lives). Also, to request each member to pray for each other's INTENTIONS, like good health, safe travel, studies, or studies of their children.
