The Lighter Side Movement

San Felipe Neri Parish, Mandaluyong City

The Lighter Side Movement is a select group of student achievers and professionals who wanted to continue their pursuit for musical excellence and at the same time serve the Lord through music during Eucharistic celebrations.

Formed in 1975, they are the resident choir of the 10am Mass of the San Felipe Neri Parish in Mandaluyong. They started serving at the Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord in SM megamall in 2007, and at the Edsa shrine in 2015.

Since its inception, they have banked a wide range of repertoire from sacred, classical, inspirational, folk and popular music. Bringing luster to its name, LSM has an extensive history of choral concerts and competitions. They won the Grand prize in the Clarion Call Choral competition 2019. They are also a two-time Grand Prize winner in the Himig ng Kabataan Alay kay Don Bosco which they won in 2013 and 2019. They were also awarded as the 1st runner up in 2018 in the same competition. They were also proclaimed as the Grand Champion in Mandaluyong City’s Koro ng bayan for two straight years in 2013 and 2014. They have also been hailed as the 1st place in the Harana kay Divine Mercy Choral competition in 2016.

They continue to develop their talent with the help of their conductor, Ms. Ma. Rhina Palma Cruz, an alumna of the Philippine Madrigal Singers.
